DIY KOMBUCHA CLASS W/ PILOT KOMBUCHA!

A pint of a Pilot kombucha + Grimm beer shandy!
1 hour of instruction + Q & A!
Tastes of a few experimental kombucha brews!
A basic, buildable recipe + SCOBY of your very own!
Pilot Kombucha was launched in Brooklyn in March 2015 with one goal: bring gut health to the hedonistic food lovers of New York City. Today, Pilot Kombucha delivers sips that are as good for the soul as they are for the body. Using organic, non-GMO, & fair trade ingredients and sacrificing a longer shelf-life for more nutritious bacteria, Pilot Kombucha is here to keep you feeling good, no matter what. As a former line-cook and major foodie, founder Alex Ingalls knows that you don’t want to sacrifice indulgences in order to feel healthy & energized. She started brewing kombucha to aid her digestion after decadent meals & nights out partying. After converting her staunchly anti-kombucha head chef, she knew she could win over the rest of the city.

Dinner and a Movie: Goodfellas and Gun Hill

Martin Scorsese’s 1990s beloved gangster classic spans three decades of the mafia, focusing on the young who grow up in the mob and the way their business changes along with society. Centering around the true story of Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) and his friendship with Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro) and Tommy De Vito (Joe Pesci), Goodfellas shows us the inside operations of a long-standing mafia family – who’s accepted, what’s acceptable – that begins with all the glitz-and-glamor but ends with cocaine busts and plea bargaining. In addition to its beautiful cinematography, it’s sexy, tough, and violently funny (Goodfellas contains some of the most memorable lines in movie history). Our favorite scene? Why, it’s when Scorsese’s mother presents her dog painting at the dinner table… What do you want from me?

All served with beer pairings from Gun Hill Brewing Company:

I’m Just Breakin’ Balls
pea and smoked mozzarella arancini with Vinny’s tomato marinara
Paired with Outta Line Oak Aged Golden Ale w/Peaches, apricot, and vanilla

Now I Gotta Turn My Back on You
homestyle sausage hero, sautéed peppers and onions, provolone
Paired with Gun Hill IPA

Don’t Worry About That Bag
Italian wedding cookies and greenback pistachio ice cream
Paired with Friend Zone Imperial Tiramisu Style Ale

BIG ALICE BARREL ROOM GRAND OPENING

We are sure you have all heard the news, Big aLICe is getting BIGGER. We are excited to announce that our Brooklyn Barrel Room is opening on Friday 1st March, just in time to catch the back end of NY Beer Week.

Big aLICe’s journey started back in 2013 when we started brewing on our 10 gallon system.
Initially brewing exclusively bottle conditioned batches for our CSB program, we soon expanded to the 5bbl brewhouse we currently use today, in addition to opening our Long Island City Taproom.

With increased distribution both in and out of state we continue to remain locally focused, delivering creative small batch brews that challenge and excite you.
We are excited to be expanding into Brooklyn and have the opportunity to bring our unique brewing philosophy to both a new audience and a new borough that we can now also call our home.

We cannot wait to see you there!
